Chapter 6: Starting from Randomness

Section 2: Four Classes of Behavior

Subclasses within class 4

Different class 4 systems can show localized structures with strikingly similar forms, and this may allow subclasses within class 4 to be identified. In addition, class 4 systems show varying levels of activity, and it is possible that there may be discrete transitions—perhaps analogous to percolation—that can be used to define boundaries between subclasses.
