Dag Soereboe
Bio [2003]
Dag's academic career at the University of Bergen, Norway started with
his doing Mathematics and Computer Science at undergraduate level before
switching to Organization Theory and Administration at an intermediate
level. At present he is working on a thesis in fulfillment of the requirements
of the degree Candidatus Philologiae (Master by Research). He has spent
time at the University of Newcastle, Australia, taking in seminars on
Cognitive Science Seminar and courses in Rationality Theory and Philosophy
of Science. He plans to apply for an overseas Master's programme in Cognitive
Science in 2004.
Professionally, Dag worked for 6 years in the Norwegian Army and 5 years
part-time as an IT consultant. Among his assignments were three oil companies,
a TV station, a high school, a company in language technology, and general
work as a computer instructor. He has also been a part-time assistant

"Norsk Sikkerhetsinstitutt", which offers advise, tuition and consulting
services in security and safety issues and total quality management.
Project Title
Molyneaux's question, Cellular Automata and the Prisoners' Dilemma.
Project Abstract
In this study, we consider Cellular Automata (CA) under mathematical constraints
derived from the Prisoner's Dilemma (PD). An algorithm for simulating
play between the 256 elementary CA in a round-robin Iterated PD tournament
is implemented, and the results for each CA is computed and plotted. Results
suggest that the CA can be grouped in four categories with respect to
outcome under the experimental setup in this study.
