Doron Bergman
Bio [2007]
Doron recently received his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of California Santa Barbara
(2007). His research area is condensed matter physics. He also has BSc
degrees in physics and computer
science from Tel Aviv University, Israel. This summer he will be working
for Wolfram Research.
Project Title Deterministic Iterated Conformal Mappings
Project
Transformations in the complex plane, known as iterated conformed
mappings, have recently been used to describe the stochastic growth of
clusters. I have implemented a simpler set of iterated mappings using a
deterministic rule instead of one based on stochastic choice. The
resulting clusters look random and lack the fractal nature of the
stochastic case.
