Mathematica Training for Attendees

NKS/Mathematica

This one-day training course will take place on Thursday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Westin Waltham-Boston. The course has been designed specifically for NKS 2003 attendees and will be presented by certified instructors from the Wolfram Education Group (WEG). The course is based on WEG's very popular series of Mathematica courses.

NKS/Mathematica will give students direct experience with the basic Mathematica features needed for them to become proficient Mathematica users as well as NKS investigators. No prior Mathematica experience is required.

The course will include an introduction to the Mathematica programming language with emphasis on familiar programming tasks. Emphasis will be placed on the programming techniques used to develop the Mathematica programs in A New Kind of Science.

NKS/Mathematica will be delivered as an instructor-led class. Workstations with Mathematica and NKS Explorer installed will be provided. Materials will be presented in both lecture and hands-on formats, allowing students to interact with the materials, other classmates, and the instructor. A course-material binder and a CD providing hands-on exercises will be included.
